Wendy's Wedding Musings in Bermuda

Planning a wedding can be a stressful experience, which is why our expert weddings specialist, Ms. Wendy Rukstalis, at the Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda is here to put you at ease!  Every week on #WeddingWednesday (yes, we love Twitter) she'll be sharing some simple yet helpful suggestions that she often passes along to her brides-to-be in Bermuda, as well as general know-how she's acquired through the years as our on-property weddings extraordinaire.  

Here's this week's wedding musings by Wendy:

There are so many pieces of a destination wedding to pull together that often some of the details get lost in the shuffle.  Here's a few frameworks and timelines I give my brides to work with as soon as they come to me to help plan their destination wedding:

• Save the date cards - send these out as soon as you have a date; this is especially important for a destination wedding!


• Invitations - don’t forget to send those out about 3 months prior to the date, and provide that extra time so guests may book tickets


• Welcome packet/agenda - have something prepared to give your guests upon arrival so they know the weekend’s festivities 


• Thank you notes - don’t forget to start writing them when you return from the honeymoon!

The bottom line: get going immediately on these simple "must haves" you need to order in advance and provide for your guests!
