Anita & Mark's Christmas Wedding
“Elegant Christmas Wedding”
Congratulations on your wedding! What made you decide on having your wedding with us at Fairmont?
My sister had her wedding at the Fairmont at which point we met Tracey from the Copley. She was so incredibly helpful throughout the process.
Where did you have your ceremony?
We had our ceremony at my Roman Catholic Church, which is about 30 minutes from the Fairmont.
Tell us about the flowers you chose. Did you go traditional or contemporary?
We chose simple more traditional flowers for both the bouquets and the centerpieces. We used a mixture of white flowers including white roses, as well as a good amount of greenery and ivy. We also included some winter berries to add a little red and embrace the Christmas season.
Tell us about the meal you served your guests. What type and flavor cake did you have at your reception?
We had so many wonderful foods! The appetizers were delicious, we had a special addition to the menu of Italian wedding soup, a seasonal salad with bacon and caramelized onions, a sorbet intermezzo (that my mom insisted we have), and for the entree; we had the choice of surf and turf, salmon, chicken, a vegetarian option as well as a children's option. The Fairmont was so accommodating! We had a cake from Modern Pastry of the North End, it's a family tradition for Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Tell us about it.
We went the Atlantis in the Bahamas. It is a great place for people, like myself, that want to go somewhere warm, but also like to explore and do activities.
What element(s) did you add to make the wedding uniquely 'yours'?
My favorite "extra" element was that we set up a "memorial" table with wedding photos of our grandparents, great grandparents and godparents that are no longer with us. Our relatives really enjoyed seeing the photos.
Another integral part of the day is the wedding dress! Tell us about what you chose to wear.
I got my wedding dress from "The Bridal Secret" in Quincy. I would recommend going to visit Judy to anybody and everybody. She has beautiful couture dresses for very reasonable prices. She also does EVERYTHING, alterations and veils. She also has bridal jewelry, belts and hair pieces. I chose a Sophia Tolli, tulle mermaid dress called "Olenna". I really loved the color and style.
What was the first song you danced to as newlyweds?
We chose the song "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole, we had "The Connection," a Wilson Stevens Production Band, play at our cocktail hour and reception. They are a phenomenal band.
Now that you are married and have had time to reflect on your wedding day, what was your favorite moment?
I don't think I can mention one particular moment, I loved seeing our guests enjoying themselves. We had a lot of younger children at our wedding who had an absolute blast. December is such a magical time, the hotel was decorated beautifully and people were looking ahead to Christmas. I loved seeing our friends and families mingling and enjoying themselves, there is nothing better than sharing the day with the people you love.
Vendors & Service Providers:
We were so thrilled with our photographer Zev Fisher. He caught so many beautiful moments, that as the bride, you are too preoccupied to realize.

Our Florist - Mahoney's Garden Center- went above and beyond to help us. They delivered the bouquets and boutonnieres to the church, and delivered and set up both the centerpieces and the real flowers that were on our cake.
Dress & Veil- The Bridal Secret in Quincy. Judy is THE BEST.
Bridesmaid Dresses- Bella Bridesmaid of Boston, Britt and Alison are amazing.
Band- "The Connection" from Wilson Stevens Production. They are a 9 piece band, they have a fantastic selection, and were able to play the Frank Sinatra that we love and the pop hits that we wanted to dance to.
Cake and Dessert Table- Modern Pastry of the North End of Boston. They coordinated with the florist to put beautiful fresh flowers on the giant, delicious cake.
Transportation- Rockstar Limo. We had coach buses transport the guests to and from the church and hotel, which made traveling easier for the guests. I would HIGHLY recommend a "limo bus" for your wedding party, it is much more comfortable for your guests to have the high ceilings of a bus rather than a standard limo.
Videographer- McElroy Weddings- Our Videographers were very pleasant and not intrusive.
